Christine Beckman holds a Masters in Special Education with varied exceptionalities. She has been teaching in the elementary school setting for 15 years, which began with being an interpreter for the deaf, then on to teaching kindergarten and 1st grade. Prior to the elementary setting, Christine taught at Seminole State College, teaching ESOL to adults for five years. Christine is most blessed when she sees the light of understanding twinkle in her student’s eyes.
Christine is married to her best friend and confidant Sam for 32 years. She has a daughter and son with spouses, and 3 granddaughters, 13, 12, 11. Her hobbies are quilting, reading, and yoga. Christine is a breast cancer survivor and has attended a support group for the past 11 years. She has no pets at this time, though through the years she’s had a plethora of dogs, cats, birds and hamsters.
Mrs. Andres has been teaching young children for close to 30 years in both private and public schools. She studied Early Childhood Education at Pasadena City College in California where she received her ECE certificate. In addition, a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies with emphasis in pastoral ministry was earned at Life Pacific College in San Dimas, California. She has also earned the California CBEST Educator’s Credential.
Mrs. Andres is a big kid at heart and loves teaching. She and her husband Rick have 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren living in California and Arizona. They love travelling and sharing the love of Jesus wherever they go.
Mrs. Paikai is entering her third year of teaching second grade here at City Church Academy. A graduate of USF with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Mrs. Paikai taught second grade in Highlands County for 6 years before God brought her and her family to Seminole County. Her teaching philosophy includes the belief that a structured classroom is a place where students feel at peace and in control because they always know what’s coming. She knows that no two students learn the same way, making differentiation the key to success.
Mrs. Paikai lives in Lake Mary with her husband, 2 children, dogs, fish, and pet turtle. Her children also attend City Church Academy.
Jennifer attended Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been an educator for 19 years. In that time, she has taught in a variety of settings, with students
ages 2 through grade 5. Mrs. Sherwin has enjoyed teaching students with a broad range of needs and abilities. Her
passion is to instill a love for God and a love for learning in each child that she is blessed to work with.
I grew up in Deltona and have lived in Florida my entire life. My husband and I have five children, ages 17-26. We enjoy escaping the Florida heat to hang out in the Carolina mountains with our dog, Ginger.
Christin Hayes has served as a children’s ministry leader and Christian educator for the past sixteen years. Her classroom experience includes teaching at the elementary level with Orange County Public Schools and being an adjunct professor with Belhaven University. Mrs. Hayes holds a Bachelors Degree in Church Ministries with a concentration in Children & Youth Ministries and holds a Master's of Social Work Degree. She is also a licensed minister. Mrs. Hayes is passionate about raising up the next generation. She strongly believes in creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
Mrs. Hayes enjoys spending time with her husband and best friend Doug and their four incredible children. She loves family time, which may consist of exploring new adventures, jumping on the trampoline in their backyard, or snuggling up to a movie. Whatever they do, they are sure to have fun! Mrs. Hayes also writes about family life and brings encouragement to other parents through her blog, Blessings By My Side.
